about
Bariatric Community is a nonprofit rooted in lived experience.
Fostering peer connection and community engagement in the bariatric space. Built so no one has to navigate the journey alone.
Meet the Founder
CeCe Chancellor created BariDiaries podcast and founded Bariatric Community nonprofit after realizing the aftercare support she needed after bariatric surgery simply didn’t exist.
As a bariatric patient, breast cancer survivor, military wife, former licensed counselor, and first-generation Latina, she understands firsthand how life-changing surgery can be — and how isolating the journey after surgery often becomes.
Bariatric Community was created to bridge that aftercare gap through free, peer-led patient first support, honest conversation, education, retreats, events, and the BariDiaries podcast. What began as one woman sharing her story and searching for connection has grown into a worldwide community of patients and advocates across 10+ countries.
Because long-term success is not built through surgery alone. It’s built through connection, accountability, laughter, support, and community that stays.
This is not just about weight loss. It’s about coming home to yourself.
