Ep11 Ashley Coleman @smaller_ash
"Hey there, it's Ashlee! I'm a middle school special education teacher, happily married with two amazing boys! Weight has always been a struggle for me—I've been the 'big girl' for as long as I can remember, and it's been a roller coaster ride. The first time I successfully shed some pounds was in my senior year of high school. I dropped from 210 to 170 lbs and managed to keep it off for a while. But then, life happened. Late-night bar hopping and those 3 am IHOP or Whataburger runs caused the scale to skyrocket once again when I hit 21. It became a vicious cycle—I'd lose 40-50 lbs only to gain it all back. At my lowest point, I found solace in food and drinks. No, I wasn't a heavy drinker, just enjoyed a couple of beverages most nights. But the scale didn't lie—I hit 230 lbs, and I knew I needed help. I was tired of the struggle, tired of feeling like I was losing control over who I was. That's when I made the best decision of my life—weight loss surgery. September 5th, 2019, marked the day I took my life back."
