Welcome Home to BariDiaries, Ashley Coleman spent years knowing herself as the "big girl." Her relationship with weight became a cycle of losing, regaining, and starting over, until food and drinks became a place of comfort and she began to feel like she was losing control of who she was. At 230 pounds, Ashley knew she needed help. On September 5, 2019, she chose bariatric surgery, a decision she describes as taking her life back. Ashley is also a wife, mom of two boys, and middle school special education teacher. Her story is a reminder that asking for help isn't giving up.
